Our Founder's Track Record:


Joe Douglass has a history of uncovering truths that need to be told. The results of his investigative reporting include:

 

  • A major school district facing $2.2 million in lawsuits after he exposed a teacher who, despite being disciplined for alleged child abuse, received multiple transfers and raises.

  • State-issued fines amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars against four insurance companies, following his in-depth investigation into a family's struggle for coverage of autism care.

  • Substantial settlements in wrongful death cases within jails, where his ability to build trust and rapport with victims and families has brought essential stories to light.

  • Helping free a wrongfully imprisoned American citizen in Mexico.

    Joe worked as a television news producer and writer for eight-and-a-half years at KTTV and KABC in Los Angeles before making the leap to on-air reporting. He worked as a reporter at WEAR in Pensacola, Florida for more than two years before joining KATU as an investigative reporter and fill-in anchor for five-and-a-half years in his hometown of Portland, Oregon.

    Prior to becoming a broadcaster, Joe and his writing partner sold a screenplay.

    Since leaving the television news industry, Joe has worked as a business owner, educator, and project manager in western Massachusetts. He also runs an investigative news site featuring articles that have been shared by CNN, the Society of Professional Journalists, and the Columbia Journalism Review.
